Pro-tukipiste’s survey on seeking help and encounters with the police in situations involving violence
Pro-tukipiste ry is finding out what kinds of experiences people who sell sexual or erotic services have had when seeking help and meeting the police after experiencing violence or the threat of violence. This online survey is part of the study.
Anonymous survey
In the survey, we ask about experiences of seeking help, reporting a crime, and encounters with support services and the police in Finland. The survey is for situations where a person who sells sexual or erotic services has experienced violence or the threat of violence.
We are also interested in why people may not seek help or may not tell the police about the violence they have experienced. We want to hear about both good and bad experiences. You can also tell us what could make it easier to seek help, even if you have not experienced violence yourself as an adult.
The survey is available in Finnish, English, Spanish and Thai. In the open-ended questions in the Finnish and English versions, you can also answer in another language that is easiest for you to write in.
How will the information be used?
We collect this information so that we can improve our own work and develop cooperation with services and the police. We also use the information in our advocacy work.
We want to show what kinds of experiences people who receive income from sexual or erotic services have of seeking help, police work and criminal processes in Finland. We also need information about what makes seeking help difficult, when and why it is difficult to report a crime, and whether the rights of crime victims are realised.
Confidentiality and timetable
Answering the survey is voluntary and anonymous. We do not ask for information that could identify you. The survey is open until the end of August. If needed, the response time will be extended until September. The results will be published in autumn 2026, and the data will be deleted at the end of the year.
